Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the CakeRuns website and mobile application operated by CakeRuns Nigeria Limited.

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, bakers, and others who access or use the Service. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. User Accounts

• When you create an account with us, you must provide information that is accurate, complete, and current at all times. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of the Terms.
• You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access the Service and for any activities or actions under your password.
• CakeRuns operates with distinct user roles (Customers, Bakers, and Admins). Bakers must pass a vetting process before their storefronts are publicly visible.

2. Quotes & Orders

• Base Prices: The prices listed on the catalog are estimated base prices. The final price is determined by the Baker based on your specific customization requests.
• Quotes: Submitting a quote request does not constitute a binding order. An order is only confirmed when the Baker approves the quote and the Customer successfully completes the payment.
• Right of Refusal: Bakers reserve the right to decline any quote request if they are fully booked, lack the necessary ingredients, or for any other operational reason.

3. Payments & Escrow

To protect both parties, CakeRuns utilizes a secure escrow system for all transactions.

• Upon accepting a quote, the Customer's payment is held securely in the CakeRuns escrow account.
• Off-Platform Payments: For your security, all payments must be processed through the CakeRuns platform. Any attempt to solicit or process payments outside the platform may result in immediate account termination.

4. Delivery & Secured Handover

• Customers are provided with a unique Delivery PIN when an order is paid for.
• It is the Customer's responsibility to inspect the cake upon delivery. By providing the Delivery PIN to the Baker (or clicking "Confirm Delivery" on the dashboard), the Customer accepts the cake in its current condition.
• Once the Delivery PIN is verified, the funds are released from escrow to the Baker. At this point, the transaction is finalized and refunds are no longer possible.

5. Cancellations & Refunds

• Because cakes are perishable and custom-made, cancellations are time-sensitive.
• A Customer may cancel an order for a full refund only if the Baker has not yet begun preparing the order (status is "Pending").
• If the Baker has already started preparation, partial or zero refunds will be issued based on the proximity to the delivery date and the amount of work already completed, subject to CakeRuns mediation.

6. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
